Youth Tailored Curriculum

Youth Programme – Every year we run a week long summer school for teenagers ages 13 to 19 years. The summer school aims to build the confidence of each child to be able to develop life skills and carry out life tasks on their own. There is a theme which is created by the children with topics of their interest. In the past we have covered topics such as the film production, podcasting, music production,  environment, craft making, healthy eating and cooking, history and ancestry, dance.  All the staff working with the youth are volunteers and DBS checked.

Girls mentoring – we have a mentoring programme for girls who are at risk of exclusion from mainstream school or girls who have challenging behaviour due to their disruptive family background. This program is for up to 4 months aim to boost their confidence. We also run a bi monthly Girls talk where girls can air their feelings about various topics of discussion.

Girl’s Talk Forum – We  run an educational information forum  for Black Girls (aged 13-19 years)  called Girl’s Talk  which is in the form of an online discussion group 10 times a year. This provides Black girls an opportunity to talk honestly and confidentially about things that they want to particularly where the issues are bothering them and they do not know how to handle. These topical issues help with their personal development and understanding of how to develop healthy relationships. You can subscribe to our Instagram page, newsletter and blog for more information on the topics
