Our Stories, Our Wellbeing: Migration, Mental Health & the Black London Experience – 2026 Black History Month Seminar

What happens to a community’s wellbeing when identity, racism, family history and belonging is disrupted by migration spanning generations?
This Black History Month, we are bringing people together for an important conversation about the experiences of African and Caribbean communities in London – and the ways migration journeys have shaped our identities, families, mental health and sense of belonging.
Migration is not simply about moving from one country to another.
It can involve hope, sacrifice, opportunity, separation, resilience, discrimination, identity, community and the search for belonging.

How have family, faith, culture been migrated with the people and community networks, creativity and collective action helped people survive, adapt and thrive?
